The benefits of mature thermal mud

In our healing department mud therapy is performed using exclusively mature thermal mud, which is unique in the world for the elements of its composition.

In particular, for its incredible anti-inflammatory properties, the Phormidium SP ETS 05I cyanobacteria is registered with a European patent which allowed the mud in the Euganean Thermal Basin to be classified as natural medicine.

The mud matures in special mud tanks in which thermal water and clay merge, and rests for at least 60 days at a minimum temperature of 38° C. At the end of this time the mud is mature and it is covered by green-light blue algae.

The therapy

Once ready, this mud is applied by highly qualified staff who follow the information included in each guest’s file, as supplied by the doctor specialized in thermal treatments, who has performed the initial check up. The therapy lasts about 15 minutes at a temperature between 39 and 42° C.

At the end of the mud therapy, after a shower in hot thermal water, you plunge in a thermal bath at 37-38° C for 8-15 minutes. The thermal bath can be enriched with ozone, to improve blood circulation and facilitate muscular relaxation.

A sweating reaction lasting between 30 and 60 minutes in a warm room is an essential step in a good treatment.

What can we treat?

Various pathologies can be treated with mud therapy, even through the Italian Health National System and the National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work.
